Hold Fast Series Cover Design and Layout

Worked directly with an amazing author, Cynthia Harris, to create a visual representation of her book series. I started with a collaborative art direction, leading her through some art possibilites and discussions around the process. Starting with excerpts from her text, object descriptions and ideas she envisioned. That progressed into sketches, then turned into mocks, some revisions, and finally, professionally printed books.

Using a unique art process that I have crafted, I create photo-realistic objects and scenes that are then composited into a final image. This process allows for a high level of detail and realism, while maintianing design flexibility that is not possible with traditional illustration techniques. The final image, title and layout is composited into the cover art for each book in the series, as well as for promotional materials and marketing. I combined my skills in 3D modeling, texturing, rendering, and typography to create visually stunning layouts, that capture the essence of the book series.
